Standing in an open orchard in Mijdrecht is a villa which seems to be suspended between heaven and earth. Viewed from the northwest the house appears somewhat closed but on the south side the true character of the house becomes apparent - an exceptionally transparent wooden house with a faded green roof. The main entrance is located under the unusually wide flight of stairs that run down into the garden from the first floor. Five wooden trusses stand out clearly in the entirely glass elevations. The extensive roof projections shield the summer sun but allow the winter sun to shine inside. They also protect the walls from the rain. The study, the deeper lying conservatory, the living room and the wrap around terrace lie on the south side. The bedrooms and kitchen are located on the other side against the north stone wall.
