This residence on the edge of Valkenswaard has an obvious construction with frames made of durable iroko wood. On the street side the frames are mainly filled in with wooden panels to give the residents privacy although they are still able to see down the five hundred meter long street by looking out of the high workroom window. The house opens out onto the garden side and here the frames are filled with partly clear and partly matt glass. Within the house, all areas are connected both with each other and with the world outside. The reflection of the pond onto the concrete ceiling strengthens the bond between the interior and the outside and the openness of the facades and the interior guarantees that every change in the weather, light and season is instantly experienced.
