De Jonkvrouw

Geldrop

This elongated development site lies in and on Spoordijk at the same level as the station. On the western side almost the entire length of the site borders on a park which, in turn, forms the green link to the church village of Zesgehuchten. The development comprises six apartment buildings for senior living and a number of group residences for somatic and psycho-geriatric care. There is also a centrally located meeting room, a doctor’s post and other health and care related services and amenities. The large, open terrace on the water forms a resting point. The railway side has closed elevations, traditional brickwork architecture and slightly vaulted roofs. The apartment buildings are linked, two by two, by transparent stairwells that guarantee reduced noise levels. The complexes also have sunny terraces which overlook the park and a semi-public green garden that joins onto the park. The transparent facades and the spacious terraces create an open feeling. Leading on from the park the greenery continues via wedge shaped courtyards and terraces. Parking is located on the Spoordijk so that only the dwellings stand in the park.
