This point-shaped lot on the corner of Spoorlaan and de Bram van den Berghstraat marks an important strategic area for the spatial development of the center of Oss. Due to the location opposite the railway station, this place functions as the welcoming face for the reception into the city as well as the connection to the developing railway zone. Unfortunately, the existing buildings and the inconspicuous sparse programming don’t have the potential to live up this function . diederendirrix has been asked to make a design for a residential building with a height accent on the corner, with an appealing spatial-architectural mass. The design is a careful integration of a low-rise tower and a volume with luxury apartments with a plinth of commercial space, restaurant and a recessed parking garage. At the edges of the plot the volume respects the heights of the adjacent and partially monumental buildings, while the tower, through the protruding and exciting outdoor spaces, creates an image of a single facade volume.
