Manresa

Venlo

The complex containing 34 apartments stands on almost the exact same spot as the Manresa retreat house which stood on the Maagdenberg until 2001. To capitalise upon the magnificent view of Venlo, diederendirrix brings back reminders of the terraces and staircases that existed before the cloister was demolished. The view is critical to the panorama that divides the complex into 2 residential blocks. The apartments are designed as stacked bungalows with a large glass frontage that brings the green surroundings into the living space. Their setting in a uniquely wooded residential park, together with the outstanding views and multiple orientations gives the properties an exceptional quality. We preserved the original and unique character of the area by saving the existing trees and retaining the uneven terrain. Manresa West is included in the Buro Lubbers master plan, alongside thirty patio and hillside properties on the Zuid and Oost building locations elsewhere on the site.
