Heeswijk Dinther

An extension containing a new kitchen, dining room, utility room, office/hobby space, wine cellar, covered terrace and swimming pool is added to an existing detached residence in Heeswijk-Dinther. The ingenious design merges into the previous annex with its worn-out kitchen and utility room. In the diederendirrix design the new rooms are joined together, in a row, in 17 m sections but separated by spatial elements such as the utility room and a covered terrace. The design combines simplicity with an exciting succession of different rooms. We chose to cover the extension in wood as opposed to the plasterwork of the house. The horizontal planking runs uniformly over the whole volume. Sliding elements, also of wood, make it possible to close all windows and openings and thus shut off the complete frontage.
