In the city centre of Eindhoven diederenendirrix developed a plan for the Kanaldijk site. The location has a height difference of around three meters which makes a high density townhouse design possible. The Havenkwartier is located in a historical square with a parking garage underneath and has a monumental building which attracts particular attention. The industrial past of the site is reinforced by the use of shed roofing on the new buildings. The irregular profile of the buildings generates an alternation of narrow streets, small squares and gardens which in combination with the height difference, create interesting views towards the central monument.
