This small-scale residential care complex is situated in a special place in Lakerlopen and is characterised by a unique mix of group accommodation and small individual apartments. diederendirrix has situated the residential block in such a way that it forms a natural transition between the ground access dwellings and the more urban apartment blocks at the entrance to the neighbourhood. The residential care complex is incorporated into the surrounding new development. The architectural variations in material use plus the architectural signature provide a subtle difference in both form and expression. An unusual combination is created that is integrated into the neighbourhood and yet still retains a clear sense of identity.
